Silent Eight Joins JFDI.Asia Accelerator
Silent Eight’s journey began in Singapore when the company joined the JFDI.Asia Accelerate program, one of the region’s leading startup accelerators.
During the program, the team developed Silent Eight Search, an AI-powered enterprise search platform designed to navigate large and complex datasets.
The technology was showcased at the accelerator’s demo day in January 2015, marking Silent Eight’s first public milestone and highlighting the team’s early vision for applying artificial intelligence to complex information challenges.
2015 - September
Seed Funding Led by Wavemaker Partners
Following the accelerator program, Silent Eight secured early backing from Wavemaker Partners, which led the company’s seed funding round. The investment enabled the company to continue developing its AI technology while expanding its research and development capabilities.
This early support helped Silent Eight transition from an emerging startup into a company focused on building scalable AI solutions for complex decision-making environments.
2018 - July
Standard Chartered Deploys Silent Eight Solutions
A major breakthrough came in 2018 when Standard Chartered became the first global financial institution to deploy Silent Eight’s AI platform within its sanctions compliance operations.
The implementation demonstrated how Silent Eight’s AI solutions support investigators handling complex alerts while improving efficiency and consistency across compliance investigations.
2019 - November
Silent Eight Raises $6.2m Series A Funding
In late 2019, Silent Eight announced a $6.2m Series A funding round to support the continued development of its platform, with participation from OTB Ventures, Wavemaker Partners, and SC Ventures – the corporate venture capital arm of Standard Chartered.
2020 - October
OTB Ventures Increases Total Funding
As Silent Eight’s platform continued to evolve, the company sought additional investment to support its growing role in financial crime compliance (FCC). In October 2020, funding led by OTB Ventures brought Silent Eight’s total capital raised to $15m.
2021 - January
Silent Eight Announces Partnership with HSBC
In January 2021, Silent Eight secured a multi-year partnership with HSBC, one of the world’s largest banking institutions. Following a successful trial, the bank integrated Silent Eight’s alert resolution technology into its global FCC infrastructure.
2022 - March
Silent Eight Raises $40m in Series B Funding
As adoption of Silent Eight’s technology increased internationally, the company secured additional funding to support its continued growth. In March 2022, Silent Eight raised $40m in Series B funding, led by TYH Ventures with participation from HSBC Ventures and existing investors.
With further investment, Silent Eight was able to expand its global presence while continuing to develop its AI-powered compliance technology for financial institutions facing increasingly complex financial crime challenges.
2023 - 2024
Partnerships Expand Across Global Banks
Silent Eight expanded its partnerships across multiple regions as adoption of its technology grew internationally. New collaborations were established with organisations including Emirates NBD, Mashreq, First Abu Dhabi Bank, and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, further extending the reach of Silent Eight’s compliance technology.
During this period, Silent Eight also expanded its partnership with HSBC to include transaction screening capabilities to support the bank’s broader FCC operations.

Silent Eight Launches Iris 7
In 2025, Silent Eight launched Iris 7, the most advanced evolution of its AI-driven decision intelligence platform. Built on years of experience working with leading global banks, Iris 7 introduces AI Agents designed to support financial crime investigators operating in complex compliance environments.
Developed using Silent Eight’s deep expertise in FCC, Iris 7 allows financial institutions to make high-stakes decisions faster and with greater consistency, while maintaining transparency and control through policy-bound AI Agents.
