Silent Eight Wins ICA’s Compliance AI Solution of the Year 2025

Silent Eight has been named the winner of the Compliance AI Solution of the Year at the ICA Compliance Awards 2025 Europe. This prestigious award recognises outstanding innovation and impact in the application of artificial intelligence to compliance and financial crime prevention  – and it is an honour to be celebrated among such exceptional peers.

The win recognises the advanced capabilities of our AI-driven Name Screening Adjudicator (NSA), and showcases our commitment to transforming compliance for our clients, helping them not just meet regulatory obligations, but exceed expectations, helping foster trust while ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and speed.

A Partnership That Exemplifies Innovation

The award focused on our work with Mashreq, a leading financial institution in the MENA region, and a strong proponent of digital banking. Facing growing regulatory requirements and a mandate to improve Straight-Through Processing (STP) rates for customer onboarding, Mashreq turned to Silent Eight for a transformative solution.

Implemented for Mashreq in late 2024, Silent Eight’s NSA automated the adjudication of sanctions and politically exposed persons (PEP) alerts for the bank, leading to an immediate uplift in STP rates in the first week. Moreover, the AI adjudicated a high number of alerts as false positives with no need for human intervention, freeing compliance analysts to focus on higher-risk cases.

The deployment also tackled the unique challenge of processing complex Arabic names  – a known issue in legacy screening tools – while adhering to real-time processing demands and stringent compliance expectations. The collaboration between Silent Eight and Mashreq was not just technical but strategic, involving joint tuning, daily data science reviews, and even weekend on-site support to ensure a seamless go-live.
